There’s nothing quite like getting together with the guys for a rock show, especially when it’s a sold-out hometown gig for the Wayland boys at The Intersection Live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This particular show stands out in my mind because it marks a time when my style was really starting to evolve. I was more intentional about weaving in a marketing message and asserting my directing capabilities to create the most impactful visuals possible.
For this project, I didn’t hold back. I even flew my drone to capture some stunning establishing shots that added a unique perspective to the video. Wayland is always on the road, and in my experience, they’re one of the hardest working bands in the rock scene. It’s always a good time catching up with them as they continue their relentless national tour schedule.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of putting together music videos and visuals for Wayland, and we’ve shared some great experiences along the way. There’s something special about hanging out with them on their tour bus, living that VIP life, and being part of their journey. I’m incredibly grateful to Wayland for giving me my first real shot at diving into the music industry.
