Hey everyone, Brandon Damon here. I’m thrilled to share a recent project that was both challenging and rewarding. I had the opportunity to create an “About Us” video for Reliable Aftermarket Parts, a company based in Williamston, Michigan. These types of business culture videos are some of my favorites—they’re a fantastic way to showcase a company’s journey and build a connection with clients who can become lifelong fans.
Reliable Aftermarket Parts has an inspiring story. Starting from humble beginnings, they’ve evolved into a major player in the online tractor parts market, with multiple locations along Grand River. It’s a classic success story that fits perfectly with the power of video.
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom Salisbury, the owner of Reliable. Tom is not your typical owner—he’s deeply involved in the day-to-day operations, which was refreshing to see. Our interview covered everything from the company’s inception to its current growth, and it was clear that Tom’s hands-on approach is a key factor in their success.
One of the highlights of this project was filming during a tractor pull event hosted by Reliable. This was a new experience for me—apparently, there’s a whole sport dedicated to pulling weight with tractors and getting judged on speed and power. I had a blast capturing the action with my drone and Sony DSLR camera. It was a wild scene with tractors pushing their limits and sometimes even breaking down! I enjoy being emmursed in other cultures and expericing things other people love but may be foreign to me.
The main filming day was spent in their warehouse, which was quite a challenge given the heat and humidity. Despite the conditions, it was fascinating to learn about Reliable’s business operations and how they’ve leveraged technology to streamline their processes. The edit was extensive, but I’m really proud of how it turned out. The combination of our scripted interview questions and the dynamic video footage brought their story to life beautifully.
There’s so much potential for future video work with Reliable Aftermarket Parts, and I’m excited about the possibility of creating more content with them down the line. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes looks and updates from my latest projects!
