The Force Photography Workshop in Detroit was a an event designed to give back to the community, by way of educating and inspiring some young photographers! Also, highlight the iconic Air Force 1 shoe. I think its good to see corporations like Footlocker gravitate to the bigger picture of hosting events like this and creating a real culture around athletic wear, their brand, and oh yea, shoes.
There was special coffee from the coffee man that morning and we started our day with a panel discussion from working professionals. Jimmy Goldfingers hosted and the students got to hear success stories from Jenny Risher, and the likes. It was a who’s who of photogs from the city of Detroit who have put in serious work and carved out their own space in the photog community. I was lucky to be there as the videographer covering the event. After the panel we took a bus downtown to get some shots of the Nike, AirForce 1 shoe with downtown as the backdrop. Footlocker also provided light boxes to the student photogs to help inspire their works. Thanks footlocker! Below, you’ll is the original 1:00min cut. I had shot some extra footage throughout the day and that’s what made up the longer version. I had to put the extended version together when I saw the good work people at Footlocker are doing. It was great hanging and filming for the day. Shout out to Don- Staylaced! Thanks for watching!
